California dreaming - monochrome and pale pink home

It snowed here yesterday. It really did. Suffice to say I nearly cried. This is one of the reasons I transport myself to sunny San Francisco everyday via the fab interior design blog SF Girl By Bay. Honestly, if you don't go there, you should start (I mean the blog, not San Fran, but that would be great too!) These pics are from SF Girl By Bay, Victoria's home taken by her friend and photographer Bonnie Tsang.

I told you, she knows what she's talking about or what?! I'm loving the monochrome and pale pink scheme, the portrait paintings, the furniture. Oh so pretty. You can snow as much as you like Sweden but you can't take our love for the indoors!

Thank you to Victoria from SF Girl By Bay for the permission to show these! Fab home you've got!

A cool vintage inspired guest house

There's something about Australia this week...but here's yet another beautiful home. This time by interior designers Gardener & Marks who love to decorate quirky spaces with a vintage industrial edge. I love everything about this guest house, if i was a guest here I might never leave.....

Bohemian home of a Melbourne florist

You know when you see something and you get just a tinsy bit well,....jealous?! Well, when I spotted this Melbourne home of florist, Poppy on Keke I couldn't help getting a tad envious. Firstly I love Poppy's laid back, bohemian interior style (most of all her fab kitchen), then that she is a florist and spends her days working with beautiful plants (look at the way she has used flowers to brighten up her home) and finally she is an incredible chef and cooks a mean 'Love Fern Paella'! The funny thing is my home looks nothing like Poppy's, I am blonde and I am no mean cook. I did buy daffodils yesterday though...could that be a start?!

Thank you Kirra, for inspiring me with your wonderful blog and for allowing me to publish these pics. Oh and, for the wonderful Love Fern Paella recipe!

Home of a French Fashion designer

It was such a lovely sunny, spring day here in Southern Sweden I thought I might celebrate with some pictures from the pretty home of the French fashion designer, Vanessa Bruno. I posted a picture of her lovely sitting room a few weeks ago here. I love the pretty pastel hues, floaty white curtains, mid century furniture and over-sized rice lamps....

Pictures via The Style Files

I've suddenly found myself in a tricky situation, do I move away from my love for monochrome and step into spring with pale pinks, lilac, and light green?

Have a lovely evening!

A beautiful converted barn in white

Hej hej and happy Friday! I'm very excited this morning as I'm just packing for a mini skiing holidaywith friends - WOOOHOOOO! But before I head off I just wanted to leave you with this beautiful, calm white home in a converted barn, formerly an artist studio in Kent, South East England. It's now available for photo shoots through Foster House - but if I worked there I might just never leave!

All pictures: Foster House
PS if you *need* to see more of this beautiful barn, including pics of the outside check it out here.

Have a lovely weekend and see you when I return next Wednesday (complete with goggle marks?!).

A vintage / industrial / modern B&B in Provence anyone?!

Dreaming of escape to this very cool and very beautiful hotel, La Maison Pujol in Provence, France this morning. I visited Provence last year. Oh how I wish I'd stayed in this bed and breakfast packed with vintage pieces and a great touch of modern industrial. The only problem is I might still be there. Thank you to  photographer Manolo Yllera for the permission to use these great images.

The Melbourne home of an illustrator and vintage bargain hunter

I spotted this Melbourne home of illustrator Paula Mills over at the great, well known blog Design Sponge. When I saw it, I knew I had to have it, eh hem, I mean share it. I can't tell you how much I love the home-owners' style. The wonderful wall displays, the vintage finds from around the globe, the pops of colour, the white backdrop. Everything is spot on and apparently this is only the beginning.

If you fancy reading more about this home hop on over to the full interview and more pics at Design Sponge.  Don't you love the display of tomato tins? Such an easy to way to make a great display. Next time I'm at the supermarket I might just buy a few items for their packaging (x15!). Any ideas you'll take from this?

A modern retreat in the Swiss Alpes

Hej hej! Sometimes, when it feels like winter is never going to end the only thing you can do is embrace it. And this is what I would do if I stayed at this chalet dug into the mountain side in Switzerland. Designed by Peter Zumthor of SeARCH and CMA it sleeps 9 and is completely heated by green energy from a local dam. Skiing anyone?!

Photography: iwan Baan Via Q uen Bleu
There are plenty more of pictures here! Fantastic architecture and of course loving the concrete, the lighting and the funriture. But what do you think - could you stay here or would you prefer a more traditional alpine chalet?

And just before I head off - hello to all new lovely readers! Great to see you on here. I hope you feel inspired and will come back and visit soon! kram!
